Hello, my name is Shane Stover and I am a certified Elk River Trout Bum straight from the nest!

  http://www.creeknuts.com/

As far back as I can remember,I can see myself on the banks of WV's finest trout stream, the Elk river!

And ever since I was big enough to venture off on my own,I have  been passionate about fly fishing on the Elk.

My mission is to provide others with the great joy that fly fishing the Elk can bring.

My Guide service was recently featured in the West Virginia Gazette section "Woods and Water".And one of my stories was also recently featured in the "Kanawha Valley Neighbors" section of the Charleston Gazette.

Starting in Pocahontas county  @ slatyfork the mighty Elk  begins its journey for roughly 4 miles before going underground into a tunnel of winding underground caves. It then emerges in Randolph and Webster counties, where you will find  a diversity of aquatic insects and big hungry trout.

The fertile limestone enriched Elk river is waiting for you.

So,if a pool filled with rising trout is something you would like to experience,Elk River Odyssey is the place for you!

West Virginia's finest trout stream. Located in Monterville,WV.

cover the rib with thread.

Wrap ure rib forward.

Take some yellow and red dubbing and blend it like so

Twist the dubbing on your thread...

wind it forward forming the thorax

select a nice feather from the skin like this

Tie in by stroking the tips back and tying in by tips

Cut the excess that is over the hook eye and cover with thread.
Then stroke the fibers back and wind around the hook no more than 2 times.Less is best.

Tie off and cover with thread and whip finish or half hitch.

The completed fly

Hope it's ok,this was my first tutorial.
