Elk River West Virginia Guided Fly Fishing Trips

First time fly fishing. We were out celebrating my husbands 50th. Shane was very kind and took the time to walk us through all the steps to catching some beatiful fish. Shane took our party out on the Elk River for our first trout fishing excursion and put us on fish all day! None of us had ever caught trout on fly before, but with Shane's guidance we caught fish at all locations in the water column. My brother caught a monster Rainbow trout, the best fish of the day, landed using one of Shane's custom tied dry flies. Shane patiently taught my nephew through countless missed strikes until he caught his first 'bow on dry fly, and he put me on my first Brown trout with beautiful brown and red markings. I would recommend Shane to anyone who wants to catch fish, have fun, and learn a ton about fly fishing for trout on the Elk and surrounding rivers. Thanks for a great trip Shane! Shane took me on my first fly fishing excursion yesterday and I netted 3 nice Rainbows even though I had never cast a fly rod before yesterday. Hooked 3 or 4 more on top of that, that got away or broke the line. Shane was a great teacher and guided us right to where the fish were, so it was easy to catch them. I just had to let you know that I had an awesome time fishing w/you. I caught the biggest trout of my life with Shane and two others as large the "got away" Shane changed our tactics through out the day, even using size #28-32. I had never fly fished and wasn't very good with the technique. I was frustrating myself getting a lot of tangles in my line. With Shane's help and patience I ended up making some nice casts and landing even nicer trout. Check out the proof in the pictures! I am very new to fly fishing. I took a chance with Shane and was it ever a great move!! He works his butt off to make sure you will catch fish. He helped me with casting and making sure we used a good fly to get the fishes atention. I should have netted no less than 30 fish!! Not at all Shanes fault just me being new to the sport.
